So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly, or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
(2 Corinthians 9:7 KJV)
My mother gave birth to all her children at home. Then came the birth of Mary. The only person missing was the doctor. His car had a flat tire. Mary was coming, doctor or no doctor.
The doctor arrived and walked in. A minute later, Mary was born. No one would rest from that day forward.
Through the years she grew to be caring, and giving person to everyone. She would feed the homeless next to the hospital where she worked as a nurse. Mary loved her coworkers, and they loved her. Their eyes would light up, especially when she carried bags of food and snacks for them. God loves a cheerful giver. Only God could give her that special love for His people. She made music God loved hearing.
Even though she was in poor health, Mary kept on giving and spreading cheer. She lost her struggle with a digestive disease. God called her home. I’m sure she smuggled in a few snacks into Heaven and was telling Jesus, “Come on try it, you’ll like it.” God loves a cheerful giver!

Teach us all to be caring, loving and giving with a cheerful heart. Lord, we all miss Mary, but we know she is happy and in Your loving hands.
