Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Matthew 5:4 (NIV)
Like the Star Wars Princess she was named for, Leia Marie Peña was beautiful and petite. An 18 inch, 5 pound 5 ounce fighter, visited our world October 10, 2014. I thank Linda Kelly and Justin for sharing her with us, that her life may touch others.
Leia died to the world but she lives. Christmas celebrates the miracle birth of Jesus, the deliverer to an eternity of peace. I cried out seeking words and the Holy Spirit directed me to her name’s meaning and scripture.
God is the Rock, His work is perfect.., (Deuteronomy 32:4a).
Peña, Spanish, “dwelling near rock”; Leia Marie dwells nearer to The Rock than is possible for this world’s understanding. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them,” (Matthew 19:14).
Marie, Hebrew, “wished for child”. Leia rests peacefully in Christ’s arms. Father calls us each by name through Jesus who He sent to save us. … you yourselves know,… coming to you was not in vain, (1 Thessalonians 2:1).
Leia, Hawaiian, “child of heaven”. God sent this perfect, wished for, child of heaven, to our lives as a princess with purpose.
May Leia Marie Peña’s story draw each soul touched closer to You Father.
May perfection be seen and the name Jesus Christ confessed as Lord
and Savior. Upon Your call, may they too, live abundantly here
then rest eternally in Your presence. Amen.
