“He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:32 (ESV)
“Wake up Mom, Santa ate all da cookies, he ate ‘em and all da milk is gone!”
My five year old son ran into my room and woke me, shaking me with all his might expressing with such joy that Santa had appreciated his gift. He also bought gifts for others for the first time that Christmas.
What an amazing thing it was to see his face light up with ex- citement at handing out gifts to his loved ones. He even bought a furry jingle ball for our cat!
Christmas is all about the attitude of giving and cherishing of family and blessings; this is symbolic of the birth, life, and death of our Lord. God gave his Son into death so that we could live. What more precious gift could someone give?
This is the spirit of Christmas; the birth of a savior and the be- ginning of a love story that is reflected in the bright blue eyes of my little boy on Christmas morning.
Remind us, Father, of the gift of Jesus and salvation through him; today and always.
