“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance, with the riches of God’s grace. . . .” Ephesians 1: 6-7 (NIV)
For weeks you dropped copious hints about what you wanted and you tacked a Kohl’s flyer onto the refrigerator with several items circled in black marker, but still there was no electronic gadget, no name brand outfit, no expensive piece of jewelry under the tree.
Instead you received the same old stuff – things you never once requested.
Why wait for the weekend?Might as well take down all the decorations, but before you do, take a closer look at the small figures in the nativity set.
It is a reminder of the greatest Christmas present of all.
The object you see before you may seem tiny, but consider that every single thing in this world changed for us when our Savior was born in Bethlehem. Jesus is more precious and more priceless than anything you could ever request or deserve. Because of Him we have a chance at eternal riches.
You may not have gotten the list of things you asked from Santa, but you received something even greater from God, and for that you should not be disappointed but grateful and rejoicing with a glad heart and a loud voice.
Dear Lord, help me to see the value of a true Christmas gift. Thank you for loving me unconditionally and showering me with your grace.
